Portugal. The Man Announce New Album

2:01 PM / Comments (0) / by nemSEANati

Portugal. The Man will be releasing their fourth album named The Satanic Satanist on July 21st. This will be the band's second release on Equal Vision Records, the first being 2008's Censored Colors. In addition to the good news, former drummer Jason Sechrist is now back with the band.

They had this to say on their MySpace blog:
Everyone worked together and did just what was needed. There was a lot of laughing and a lot of experimenting and a lot of jamming. Camp Street Studios was exactly what this album needed in so many ways. It took us to a new place in sound and dynamics and structure and song. Just the level of professionalism alone brought our minds into a whole new world. We wrote demos, focused structures, played together live for the basic tracks, jumped head first into the world of synthesizers, and brought back programming/drum machines/loops (for those of you who missed that). The main focus of The Satanic Satanist came down to the structures. With every album we have done there has been a focus to try something new and with this album it landed in the world of Motown/Space and classic song structures.
Tracklisting:
1. People Say
2. Work All Day
3. Lovers In Love
4. The Sun
5. The Home
6. The Woods
7. Guns and Dogs
8. Do You
9. Everyone Is Golden
10. Let You Down
11. Mornings
